By inviting, using, or interacting with Aetrna's Music Bot (the "Bot"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Bot.

2. Description of Service

Aetrna's Music Bot is a Discord bot that provides music playback functionality, including:

  • Playing music from YouTube, Spotify, and SoundCloud
  • Queue management and playback controls
  • Volume control and audio settings
  • Search and playlist functionality

3. User Responsibilities

Users agree to:

  • Use the Bot in compliance with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines
  • Not use the Bot for any illegal or unauthorized purposes
  • Not attempt to exploit, hack, or disrupt the Bot's functionality
  • Not spam commands or abuse the Bot's features
  • Respect copyright laws when playing music
  • Not use the Bot to play inappropriate or offensive content in public servers

4. Content and Copyright

The Bot streams music content from third-party services (YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud). Users are responsible for ensuring they have the right to play requested content. The Bot does not store, download, or distribute copyrighted material.

Important: Playing copyrighted music may be subject to licensing requirements. Users should comply with all applicable copyright laws in their jurisdiction.

5. Admin Features

Certain administrative features require authentication via an admin key. Admin access should be restricted to trusted individuals only. Misuse of admin privileges may result in access revocation.

6. Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service, but the Bot is provided "as is" without guarantees of:

  • Continuous, uninterrupted access
  • Error-free operation
  • Compatibility with all Discord servers or configurations
  • Availability of third-party music sources

7. Limitations and Rate Limits

The Bot implements the following limitations:

  • Maximum queue size: 100 songs
  • Maximum playlist import: 50 songs
  • Volume range: 0-200%

8. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

  • Attempting to reverse engineer or decompile the Bot
  • Using the Bot to harass or spam other users
  • Circumventing rate limits or usage restrictions
  • Sharing admin keys publicly
  • Using the Bot in violation of Discord's API Terms

9. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or restrict access to the Bot at any time, without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms of Service or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the Bot after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE BOT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE BOT WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE BOT.

This Privacy Policy explains how Aetrna's Music Bot ("we," "us," or "the Bot") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our Discord bot service.

  • Music Requests: Songs, playlists, and search queries you request
  • Settings Preferences: Volume, loop mode, and other preferences
  • Admin Authentication: Admin key submissions (not stored permanently)

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide and maintain music playback functionality
  • Manage music queues and playback state per server
  • Authenticate admin users during active sessions
  • Improve Bot performance and fix bugs
  • Ensure compliance with rate limits and usage policies

4. Data Storage and Retention

4.1 Runtime Data

The following data is stored temporarily in memory during Bot operation:

  • Music queue for each server
  • Current playback state and song history
  • Admin user sessions
  • User preferences (volume, loop settings)

This data is cleared when the Bot restarts or when a server stops using the Bot.

4.2 Logs

Error logs and system logs may be temporarily retained for debugging purposes. These logs do not contain personal user information beyond what is necessary for troubleshooting.

Important: We do not permanently store user data in databases. All user-specific information is session-based and temporary.

5. Information We Do NOT Collect

We explicitly do not collect:

  • Message content outside of bot commands
  • Private or direct messages
  • Personal information (name, email, address, etc.)
  • Audio or voice data from voice channels
  • Financial or payment information

6. Third-Party Services

The Bot interacts with third-party music services:

  • YouTube: For video streaming and search
  • Spotify: For track and playlist information
  • SoundCloud: For audio streaming

These services have their own privacy policies. We do not control how they collect or use data. Search queries and streaming requests are sent to these services to provide Bot functionality.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your information with third parties, except:

  • When required by law or legal process
  • To protect our rights or the safety of users
  • With your explicit consent

8. Discord's Privacy Policy

The Bot operates on Discord's platform and is subject to Discord's Privacy Policy. We recommend reviewing Discord's policy to understand how they handle your data.

  • Admin key authentication for privileged features
  • No permanent storage of sensitive user data

The Bot is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

11. Your Rights

  • Stop using the Bot at any time

Since we do not permanently store user data, most information is automatically deleted when you stop using the Bot.

The Bot may be hosted in various locations. By using the Bot, you consent to the transfer of information to countries outside your country of residence.
